Held in Kibichuo Town, Okayama Prefecture, the '35th Kibi Plateau "Oidensai" - Hometown Summer Festival' is a community-rooted summer festival named with a play on the 'Ogre Legend' (Oni Densetsu) handed down in the Kibi Plateau and the Okayama dialect phrase 'Oidensai' (welcome / please come). The entire area of Kibi Plateau City San San Plaza serves as the venue, wrapped in a lively atmosphere with a food market and flea market. In addition, various stage events will be held to entertain visitors. The highlight of the festival is the fantastical fireworks illuminating the night sky. Launched close by, the fireworks are full of impact, decorating the grand finale of the festival. Folk performing arts, dances by local town groups, and Uraja dance will also be performed, allowing visitors to experience the local culture. At night, the lighting of oni-bi (demon fires) and decorated lanterns will create a magical atmosphere. With a tradition spanning over 30 years, this festival offers a full taste of a hometown summer.
