About this event

Produced by HITOHATA, INC., "Moving Ukiyo-e Exhibition HIROSHIMA" is an immersive digital art museum held from July 18 to September 6, 2026, at NTT CRED Hall in Hiroshima City. Over 300 ukiyo-e masterpieces that continue to captivate the world across eras—including works by Katsushika Hokusai and Utagawa Hiroshige—are exhibited as dynamic digital art using 3DCG animation and projection mapping. The experience of immersing oneself in the world of ukiyo-e across multiple 3D visual spaces can be enjoyed by adults and children alike. In addition to digital exhibits, famous original ukiyo-e prints from the Edo period and reproductions are displayed, providing commentary on the history of ukiyo-e, Edo culture, and the artists. Set in a space unique to Hiroshima, the exhibition is designed to delve deeply into the artistic value of ukiyo-e while explaining Edo culture, daily life, and entertainments of the era in an easy-to-understand manner. Photography and video recording are allowed throughout the venue, letting visitors dive into and capture the fantastical world of ukiyo-e. Having drawn over 350,000 visitors in Tokyo, Milan, and other cities, this limited-time immersive exhibition also won the Excellence Award in the Project Category at the "CJPF Awards 2025," hosted by the Cool Japan Public-Private Partnership Platform.
