SpoGOMI Tournament in Kure 2026

About this event

"SpoGOMI Tournament in Kure 2026" is a new competitive event originating in Japan where litter picking is enjoyed as a sport. It will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the park adjacent to IHI Arena Kure in Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture. Teams pick up trash within a designated area within the time limit and compete for points based on the types and weight of the collected trash. Participation is free, and teams consist of 3 to 5 members (elementary school students and younger must be accompanied by a guardian). Capacity is 30 teams; a lottery will be held in the event of oversubscription. The application deadline is Monday, September 28, 2026, at 12:00. All participants will receive a participation gift, and the top 5 teams will receive prizes such as assorted local specialty goods from Kure City and rice gift certificates. The event will also collaborate with the environmental learning event "Kure Eco Festa 2026" held on the same day, featuring exhibition booths. The event will proceed in rain, but in case of severe stormy weather, notifications will be provided via the tournament special website, the organizer's Instagram, or email.
