Shotoen Autumn Tea Gathering

At Shotoen in Shimokagari-cho, Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture, an autumn tea gathering titled 'Festival of Culture and History' will be held. At this tea gathering, tea preparation rituals (otemae) and served tea (otedashi) by the Ueda Soko school will be conducted on separate days. While viewing the beautiful garden of Shotoen, participants can enjoy a bowl of tea in a quiet and atmospheric setting. The tea ceremony participation is free of charge, but admission to Shotoen is required: 800 yen for adults, 480 yen for high school students, and 320 yen for elementary and junior high school students (group discounts available for 20 or more people).
