About this event
Set on 'Mt. Mokoto' in Higashimokoto, Ozora Town, this is a traditional marathon held in the cooler month of October. It features a half-marathon course where runners rush down an elevation difference of 678 meters along with the wind blowing down from the 1,000-meter-high Mt. Mokoto. Other courses include 10 km, 5 km, 3 km, 2 km, and 1.2 km. Participants can run invigoratingly amidst scenery rich in nature, with course settings that allow children to participate with full energy. Selected as one of Hokkaido's Top 100 Sports Events, it has also become established as the final marathon run of the season within Hokkaido. The road race sprinting down the 678-meter elevation difference all at once is a unique attraction of this tournament.
