NANJO Kizuna no Wa Motonari no Sato Relay Marathon 2026

Held in Akitakata City, Hiroshima Prefecture, "NANJO Kizuna no Wa Motonari no Sato Relay Marathon 2026" is a 3-hour endurance marathon event where teams of 5 to 15 members pass the tasuki sash along a specially designed loop course (approx. 1 km per lap) around Akitakata City Yoshida Sports Park. Anyone can participate regardless of experience, forming teams with family, friends, coworkers, or whoever they like. The running order, number of substitutions, and costumes are completely up to you, making it an event where all participants can enjoy themselves in their own way—from serious runners aiming for top prizes to those looking to get some exercise or have fun in costumes. In this year's race, Shogo Hama, famous for playing the role of Mori Terumoto in a Taiga drama, is scheduled to visit as the starter. Participants must be elementary school age or older, with no upper age limit. The entry fee is 3,000 yen per adult, 1,500 yen for junior high and high school students, and 500 yen for elementary school students and younger. The entry capacity is 50 teams (5 to 15 people per team), and the registration period runs from Wednesday, July 1, 2026 to Sunday, September 13, 2026.
