Around Haji Dam, centered on the dam reservoir Lake Yachiyo, sports and leisure facilities that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike are scattered, with the Haji Dam Cycling Terminal serving as their comprehensive information center. In autumn, you can enjoy the cycling path and the autumn foliage of the mountains surrounding the dam lake. Driving while viewing the autumn leaves of Japanese maples turned even redder by the setting sun is recommended. From atop the elevated ground of Haji Dam, you can overlook Lake Yachiyo bordered by autumn foliage. Bicycle rentals are also available at the cycling terminal, so taking in the autumn leaves around Lake Yachiyo while enjoying a bike ride is a great option as well. The typical peak viewing period is from late October to mid-November.
