Mirocomachiko Exhibition: Squirming and Tracing

About this event

Painter and picture book author Mirocomachiko is known for her dynamic style depicting living creatures with brushstrokes full of vitality. After making her picture book debut with "The Day the Wolf Flies" (Ookami ga Tobu Hi), she has received numerous picture book awards and earned high acclaim both in Japan and abroad. This exhibition introduces Mirocomachiko's brushwork-focused world, including the world of picture books she has created, original drawings from the calendar "Tetsuzo, Uchi no Nekotachi wa ne." (Tetsuzo, About Our Cats...) which chronicled episodes of her beloved cats over many years, handwritten lettering work, and dynamic live painting footage. By depicting images felt from nature, life is breathed into animals and plants, inspiring the imagination of viewers.
