About this event

The 30th Toyomatsu Fureai Festival, a major autumn event in Toyomatsu, Jinsekikogen Town, will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at the Yoko no Sato Multipurpose Gymnasium. Commemorating its milestone 30th anniversary this year, the festival is packed with food attractions such as Jinseki beef diced steak, Inoko-jiru (wild boar soup), gourmet food from popular food trucks, and a bread & sweets market. In addition, in the famous "Whole Tomato Biting Championship," contestants compete to become the fastest eater aiming for the 10,000 yen first-place prize. The free-entry "Whole Tomato Biting Championship" is limited to the first 20 participants each in the men's and women's divisions. The "All-You-Can-Stuff Tomatoes" event (300 yen participation fee), where you can stuff a bag full of Toyomatsu's specialty brand tomatoes, is also popular. There are also plenty of activities designed for the whole family to enjoy, including the "Toyomatsu Nature Experience Tour" and "Toyomatsu Card Experience" devised by local children. Visitors can discover the charm of the region while playing with "Toyomatsu Cards" featuring local specialties, famous spots, and active local figures, or by taking tours that fully explore the nature and hidden spots of Toyomatsu. A stamp rally will also be held, offering a chance to win Toyomatsu specialty goods and luxurious prizes. Visitors can also enjoy a diverse lineup of stage performances, including the opening Toyomatsu Taiko drumming, Jinsekikogen Junior High School brass band, Jinseki Odoriko-tai Kirakiraboshi (Yosakoi), and Shimanami Tempuren (Awa Odori dance).
