The "34th Hohoku Summer Festival" will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, in Hohoku-cho, Shimonoseki City. The venue, Agawa Hosenguri Seaside Park, will bustle with stage events and gourmet food booths, and the finale will feature approximately 2,000 fireworks brightly illuminating the Sea of Japan night sky. It is a popular festival in Hohoku-cho where visitors can enjoy the liberating open atmosphere unique to the seaside. The festival begins at 17:00, with fireworks launching from 20:00 to 20:30. Admission is free. In the event of stormy weather, it is scheduled to be postponed to the following day, Sunday, September 6. The venue is accessible on foot in about 10 minutes from JR San'in Main Line Agawa Station. As crowds are expected on the day, arriving with plenty of time is recommended. Temporary parking and shuttle bus services are also scheduled. It is an appealing festival with seaside fireworks and lively festivities, perfect for making late-summer memories.
