About this event
Held in early October in the Yatomi area of Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, the 'Buckwheat Flower Festival' is an event where visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery of buckwheat flowers blooming all across the fields. The main highlight is undoubtedly the landscape that resembles a carpet of buckwheat flowers. At the event, centered around 100% handmade Juwari soba noodles made with local buckwheat flour, fresh locally grown agricultural produce and processed goods will be sold directly. In addition, various hands-on activity booths will be set up to entertain visitors. On stage, powerful performances by Yatomi Ryujin Taiko and the Choshu Kagura Tahara Preservation Society will take place, offering a chance to experience local traditional culture. There is also a buckwheat flower field near the entrance to Tatamigafuchi, which can be enjoyed while taking a stroll. This festival is an event that lets you feel the arrival of autumn while fully experiencing the unique atmosphere of the countryside.
