The Shunan Children's Dream Festival is an event where children take center stage. At the venue, children can collect and spend 'GENKI,' an original children's currency, by playing, buying food, and participating in various hands-on experiences. Local children and adult volunteers collaborate to prepare and run the event. Stage events feature balloon performances and singing by Aoba Kindergarten, a fashion show by Kumage Kita High School, a mini concert by Mami Takahashi, a singer from Shunan City, and a candy scatter toss. The 'Harapeko Booth' food area offers fried chicken, french fries, popcorn, cotton candy, and more. The 'Wanpaku Experience Booth' lets children try water-discharging as a firefighter, view police and Self-Defense Forces vehicles, and enjoy a kids' flea market and bouncy dome. The 'Yume Hiroba Booth' offers experiences with the disaster emergency message dial service, balloon art, a play corner, and an announcing experience. In addition, visitors of high school age or younger who arrive using the JR Gantoku Line can receive a special gift of 3 children's currency bills and sweets at JR Takamizu Station (available while supplies last).
