About this event

Yamashiro Town in Miyoshi City is a place rich in folklore and yokai legends. In this 'Yokai Village', also known as the birthplace of Konaki-jiji, the annually popular running event 'Oboke Yokai RUN♫RUN♪RUN!! YA-MARATHON' is held. The starting point is a closed elementary school. Passing through a refreshing road along a clear stream, runners face steep mountain paths aiming for an elevation of approximately 1,000 meters with an elevation gain of around 800 meters. Along the course, spots related to yokai legends and majestic views unfold, allowing runners to run while experiencing the nature and culture unique to Yamashiro Town. Spectacular scenery greets runners, and after reaching the goal, warm 'Yokai Soup' is served by local residents. Interacting with local people is also a major attraction of this event. The race features a 25 km course, considered one of the toughest in Shikoku, and a casual 10 km course that is easy to join. Because participants can challenge themselves according to their running ability, it is recommended not only for running enthusiasts but also for those who want to enjoy the nature and yokai culture of Yamashiro Town.
