About this event
The "Yamashiro Tanuki Festival" will be held in Yamashiro-cho, Miyoshi City, Tokushima Prefecture. Set in a region with surviving tanuki folklore, various tanuki-themed events can be enjoyed. In addition to a gathering of unique local tanuki, the event will feature a Tanuki Marche offering local products, a Tanuki Fusuma Painting Gallery, kamishibai picture-story shows, and more. A "Tanuki Parade" where tanuki march through the town and a stage performance by a local dance club are also scheduled. Visitors wearing tanuki makeup are warmly welcomed, making it a festival where you can spend a day with delightful tanuki. This year marks its 10th anniversary.
