About this event
This is a heroic festival where men dressed in white robes carry portable shrines (mikoshi) from Todoroki Shrine and rush down 140 steep stone steps. Passing through the grounds of Ryuo-ji Temple, heading toward the waterfall, navigating between rocks, crossing the river, and finally entering the waterfall basin is truly a breathtaking sight. It is packed with highlights such as prayer rituals, the Ryujin no Mai (Dragon God dance) dedication ritual, and the 'Abare Mikoshi' (wild portable shrine) departing from Todoroki Shrine. You can experience a traditional and powerful festival unfolding in Kaiyo Town in autumn.
