Sanuki Bar: Bamboo Lanterns at Nagao-ji Temple Edition 2026
Japanese name:さぬきバル「竹あかり長尾寺編」2026
📅 Sat, Oct 10, 2026
About this event
This event allows visitors to relax and enjoy the long autumn night surrounded by soft illumination. Using bamboo harvested in Nagao, Sanuki City—a "bamboo town" known since ancient times for its quality bamboo—the 87th temple of the Shikoku Pilgrimage, Nagao-ji Temple, will be magically lit up with bamboo lanterns. Illuminating the temple grounds with bamboo lights offers a chance to experience an atmosphere at Nagao-ji that is different from usual. Shamisen performances and a live set by a guitarist from Sanuki City will also take place. At the bar venue, various delicious foods made with prefecture-grown ingredients will be served, and guests can enjoy Sanuki wine, craft beer, and sweets from local Japanese confectionery shops. In addition, workshops such as "Original Can Badge Making Experience," "Mini Lantern Making," and the "Sakkii Stamp Rally" will be held. On the day of the event, a specially chartered train featuring an art-wrapped collaboration with Heralbony will also run on the Kotoden Nagao Line.
