About this event
Aiming to protect and pass on current lifestyles and culture to the next generation, "Miki Green Out Meeting: Forest of Awareness" is an outdoor event where both adults and children can experience "awareness" and "learning" in the community while connecting with local nature and creations. The 2026 theme is "Niinamesai: A Day of Gratitude for Delicious Food." Niinamesai is an important Japanese harvest festival where newly harvested grains (not only rice, but all of the year's first harvests and blessings) are offered to the gods to express gratitude for the harvest. As a day of giving thanks for "delicious food," the event features a market to experience seasonal ingredients and products harvested in Tosan (Miki Town, Sanuki City, and Higashikagawa City), opportunities to discover craftsmanship in Kagawa Prefecture, and markets run entirely by children. Attendees can also enjoy outdoor meeting activities such as exploring local history and nature like Mount Gaku, engaging with local culture, and interacting with horses. It is an event where adults and children can enjoy playing outdoors to their heart's content.
