Kotohira Town signed a friendship agreement with Ruifang District, New Taipei City, Taiwan, in May 2018, deepening exchanges across various fields including administration, education, tourism, and industry. Rooted in this friendly relationship, the event has become an established early-autumn tradition in Kotohira.
