This is an elegant, unique festival of Kotohira-gu Shrine where the arrival of beautiful autumn across the brocade-colored Sanuki route is reported to the great deity, praying for national prosperity and the happiness of people around the world. While a procession was traditionally held every year, it has become difficult to conduct due to recent climate changes, so only the ritual ceremony will be performed at the Main Shrine (Gohonsha) this year. Held during the autumn foliage season, this special Shinto ritual takes place in a solemn atmosphere where you can feel the arrival of autumn.
