Himekojima Shrine Autumn Grand Festival (Okamura Island)

The Himekojima Shrine Autumn Grand Festival will be held at Himekojima Shrine, located at Ko-984 Sekizenokamura, Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture. On the eve of the festival, the Mikisegisai ritual, the Toyosaka dance, and the lion dance take place, marking the opening of the festival. On the main day, portable shrines (mikoshi) parade across the island, and heroic lion dances are performed at every intersection as the festival reaches its peak. At dusk, the mikoshi returns to the shrine, and the island remains lively throughout the day. This festival is a precious opportunity to feel local tradition and vitality firsthand.
