Kamiura-cho Regional Autumn Festival

This is a traditional autumn festival held every September in Kamiura-cho, Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture. From children to adults, local residents come together to perform traditional arts such as the lion dance (shishimai), portable shrines (mikoshi), and yakko processions. Held on the Saturday and Sunday closest to the 14th and 15th days of the eighth month of the lunar calendar, four districts of Kamiura each present distinct autumn festivals. The following week, they gather at the Oyamazumi Shrine Ubusuna Grand Festival, making it a grand festival deeply rooted in the local community.
