About this event
At the Shikochu Hall (Shikokuchuo City Citizen Cultural Hall) Small Hall ~Karuta~ in Shikokuchuo City, Ehime Prefecture, the "2026 Excellent Film Appreciation Promotion Project: Enjoying with Film - Classic Anime Theater" will be held. This project will screen timeless, beloved feature-length fairy tale animations on 35mm film preserved by the National Film Archive of Japan, the country's only national film specialized institution. The screened works are the two films "Puss in Boots" (Nagagutsu o Haita Neko) and "Night on the Galactic Railroad" (Ginga Tetsudo no Yoru). Advance tickets are 500 yen per film (all unreserved seating, tax included), with general sales starting on Monday, September 21, 2026. In addition, alongside the screenings, a free workshop titled "Let's Draw on Film!" for elementary school students and older will be held. In this workshop, participants can experience projecting drawings made on movie film using a projector. Advance registration is required to participate, with a capacity of approximately 20 people. The event will take place on Saturday, November 21, 2026, with the screening of "Puss in Boots" starting at 10:00 AM and "Night on the Galactic Railroad" starting at 3:00 PM. The workshop will be held between the afternoon screenings. Detailed information including access to the venue, ticket purchasing methods, and contact information is also provided.
