About this event
Held in Toon City, Ehime Prefecture, the Oku-Matsusekawa Harvest Festival is a celebration of music and food. The venue comes alive with Tsugaru shamisen performances and powerful Japanese taiko drum performances by Fuso Daiko (Iyo City) and Sakura Yume Daiko Yumedo (Toon City). In addition, numerous stalls will offer fresh locally grown vegetables and fruits, processed agricultural products, and handicrafts. In particular, the limited-quantity "shishi-nabe" (wild boar hot pot) is very popular as a signature specialty unique to Oku-Matsusekawa. The festival opens with a lion dance performance by local children, complemented by shakuhachi bamboo flute performances to create a pleasant atmosphere. Surrounded by the rich nature of Oku-Matsusekawa, this is the area's largest year-end festival where visitors can fully enjoy music and local flavors.
