About this event

The "Setouchi Industrial Art Festival 2026" is an art festival held across a total of 7 venues, including currently operational factories and industrial sites located in Okayama Prefecture (Okayama City, Tamano City, Kurashiki City) and Ehime Prefecture (Toon City). As part of the Legacy Creation Project promoted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, this exhibition is an initiative to discover the appeal and essence of various industries rooted in the Setouchi region, such as salt pans, shipbuilding, steelmaking, and food culture. Setting the stage at industrial sites across the Setouchi region that have supported manufacturing, companies' factories and plants are reconstructed as "art museums", presenting the value and potential of Japanese industry through the power of art. At the venues, artworks created by artists and creators expressing familiar daily routines and complex manufacturing mechanisms will be exhibited. Visitors tour industrial sites that embody the climate of Setouchi, where sea routes were prized, and the local character of historically key locations, experiencing the wisdom of craftsmanship and human endeavors. While communicating the values and technical capabilities of participating companies, it aims to promote industrial culture for future generations and foster sustainable local development. The venues are Fuji Clean (Okayama City), Kojima Jeans Street (Kurashiki City), Tombow (Tamano City), Naikai Salt (Tamano City), PowerX (Tamano City), and Mikuni Industry (Tamano City) in Okayama Prefecture, and Ohno Associates (Toon City) in Ehime Prefecture. Admission is 880 yen, and all artworks require advance reservations.
