The largest festival in Ikata Town, held at the westernmost tip of Shikoku, is the "Kinahaiya Ikata Festival." A diverse lineup of events will take place, including the "Kinahaiya Gourmet Market" where you can taste local specialties, Japanese taiko drum performances, character shows, and a working vehicles corner. The finale of the festival is adorned by about 3,000 fireworks launched over Ikata Bay. Visitors can enjoy the spectacle of the sunset sinking into the Seto Inland Sea alongside powerful fireworks beautifully coloring the night sky and the sea surface. While it was traditionally held on the last Sunday of July, starting from 2026 it has been moved to November. The main venue is the reclaimed land in front of the Ikata Town Office, but events are also held at Yonden Fureai Plaza and the Central Community Center.
