About this event
Under the theme "Hope, Smile, Down: Talking through hardship, laughing, letting go, and finding hope," the 33rd Bethel Festival will be held in Urakawa Town, Hokkaido. As this year's main program, NPO Houboku's "Ikiwarai Ichiza" has been invited as a guest troupe to enliven the venue. In the afternoon, a theatrical play by the Bethel Papipupepo Theatre Troupe and the annual "Hallucination & Delusion Convention" are scheduled. Inside the venue, the "Bethel Marche" will run concurrently, featuring Hokkaido venison curry, local vendors, Bethel products, VR experiences, and more, allowing visitors to experience the charms of Urakawa and Bethel. On the previous day, Friday, September 18, the "Urakawa Gakkai" study presentation on Toujisha-kenkyu (self-directed research by persons with challenges) will also be held. Live streaming and recorded broadcasts will be provided, enabling remote participation. Bethel's unique storytelling, laughter, and unexpected encounters await in Urakawa.
