📅 Sun, Oct 4, 2026 - Sun, Oct 11, 2026
About this event
This is a mountain climbing event at Mt. Apoi, selected as one of Japan's 100 Famous Mountains for Alpine Flora. Despite its relatively low elevation of 810 m, around 20 species of alpine plants, including endemic species, grow wild here—a proportion said to be among the highest in the world. Near the summit, participants can overlook Cape Erimo and enjoy magnificent panoramic scenery. With certified guides accompanying the tour, even mountaineering beginners can participate with peace of mind. Both physical fitness and technical skill levels are rated as beginner, open to participants from 3rd grade elementary school students up to 75 years of age. The itinerary gathers at the Mt. Apoi Geopark parking lot and returns there via the 5th station rest hut and the summit. This is a valuable opportunity to fully enjoy the charms of Mt. Apoi, a treasure trove of endemic plants, together with expert guides.
