About this event
This is one of the traditional Segaki rituals held in Otoyo Town, featuring a mystical floating lantern ceremony (Toro Nagashi). Evolving from Urabon (Bon festival) customs, local residents float lanterns down the river to hold memorial services for their ancestors. This ritual takes place on the main stream of the Yoshino River, spreading a beautiful scene across the summer night. A tour organized by Kochi Shimbun Kanko includes an itinerary where participants can experience this Segaki lantern floating. The tour also offers apple picking and a BBQ dinner, allowing guests to savor local food and culture. The Segaki ritual in the Otaguchi district is a valuable opportunity to experience traditional local culture and is an ideal event for making summer memories.
