About this event
The 53rd Otoyo Townspeople Cultural Festival aims to discover hidden culture, appreciate the quality of townspeople's lives, increase opportunities to engage with local arts and culture, and promote participation in cultural activities. Stage performances and art exhibitions will be presented by cultural groups, kindergarteners, and students in Otoyo Town. In addition, food education corners and sales of local cuisine are planned. Admission is free, and no advance registration is required. An open call for works is also being conducted, with application acceptance running from Tuesday, September 1 to Friday, September 25, 2026. Eligibility is limited to those who live, attend school, or work in Otoyo Town, or organizations based in Otoyo Town. Submissions and presentations are invited for musical instrument performances, shigin (poetry chanting), folk performing arts, singing, and dance in the stage division, as well as paintings, photography, calligraphy, ikebana (flower arrangement), and haiku in the exhibition division.
