The 21st Onomi Shinmai Festa held in Nakatosa Town, Kochi Prefecture, is an event where visitors can savor delicious local ingredients. Starting with sales of freshly harvested Onomi Rice, local specialties such as grilled turkey skewers and salt-grilled sweetfish (ayu) will gather. Visitors can also enjoy rice balls made with Onomi Rice and activities like Shinmai Darts where Onomi Rice is awarded as prizes. In addition, stage events will be plentiful, and the festival finale will feature the customary Mochibaashi (rice-cake throwing) with 7,000 rice cakes. It is an event where you can fully enjoy the charms of Onomi.
