About this event
Held at the terraced rice fields of the Kainokawa district in Tsuno Town, Kochi Prefecture, which is certified as a 'Connecting Terraced Rice Field Heritage,' the '15th Kainokawa Terraced Rice Field Candle Festival' enchants visitors with the fantastical sight of approximately 5,000 candles illuminating the terraced paddies. At this event, you can enjoy stage shows and more surrounded by the beautiful terraced rice fields enveloped in candle light. As vehicular traffic will be closed from 16:00 on the day, shuttle vehicles will operate from the town hall main building to the venue entrance. This festival is a popular community-rooted event showcasing the scenery and charm of the local beautiful terraced rice fields. An assistance program for event operations such as candle preparation, placement, and cleanup is also offered, providing opportunities to interact with local residents and experience the charm of the rice terraces.
