The 21st Tosa Saga Modori-Gatsuo Festival
Japanese name:第21回土佐さがのもどりガツオ祭
📅 Sat, Oct 24, 2026
About this event
Celebrating its 21st year, the "Tosa Saga Modori-Gatsuo (Returning Bonito) Festival" will be held. On the day, fun stage events are scheduled, including dance performances by nursery school children and Kazu Dance School, as well as Yosakoi Naruto dances by Hata Maito. In addition, whole bonito sales and bonito tataki sales will take place, alongside numerous vendor stalls. The Women's Division of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry plans to sell frankfurters. Saga in Kuroshio Town boasts one of the prefecture's highest bonito landing volumes, making this an event where you can see, eat, and learn about the traditional bonito culture handed down in this region since ancient times. You can eat your fill of freshly caught, ultra-fresh, and richly fatty returning bonito. In addition to buying fresh whole bonito, nationwide shipping is also available. Special local products and gourmet foods from not only Kuroshio Town but all across the Hata area will gather in one place.
