Aso Oura-so Autumn Foliage Special Opening

At Aso Oura-so in Iizuka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, a special public opening is held during the time when the autumn leaves are at their most beautiful. Visitors can enjoy the stunning autumn foliage and the luxurious residence on this occasion. Built in the late Taisho period by the Aso family and currently used as a guest house, Oura-so is a beautiful Japanese-style irimoya shoin-zukuri residence crafted with exquisite taste. During the event period, visitors can tour the interior of the residence normally closed to the public, as well as appreciate the magnificent Japanese garden landscape with sprawling lawns colored in red and yellow. The event takes place from November 23 to November 30, 2026, with opening hours from 9:30 to 17:00 (last admission at 16:30). Admission is free, and it is accessible on foot in about 10 minutes from the East Exit of JR Shin-Iizuka Station. There is no parking available, so please use public transportation or nearby paid parking lots.
