About this event

Kinen-sai, also known as Toshigoi no Matsuri, is a festival to pray for a bountiful harvest of the five grains for the year, held with great importance alongside the Niiname-sai in November. This festival is conducted not only at Miyajidake Shrine but also at shrines across the country. At Miyajidake Shrine, this Kinen-sai is held on February 17. It is a sacred ceremony to pray for bountiful harvests, an important Shinto ritual to give thanks for the blessings of Japanese agriculture and pray for rich crops in the coming year.
