About this event
Organized by Higashi Taisetsu Nature Center, the 'Nature Museum Lecture 2026: Mushrooms Around Nukabira' will be held on August 29, 2026. In this lecture, the first half consists of fieldwork observing actual mushrooms in the rich nature surrounding Nukabira. In the second half, participants can learn how to identify the observed mushroom species from an expert indoors. The lecturer will be Mr. Yasuyo Nara from the Hokkaido Mushroom Society. The target audience is 3rd grade elementary school students and older, and elementary school students must be accompanied by a guardian. Participation is free, but capacity is limited to 20 people and advance reservation is required. Items to bring are boots, a hat, a towel, drinks, and lunch. Please participate in clothing suitable for outdoor activities. This lecture is a great opportunity to get in touch with local nature and deepen knowledge about mushrooms.
