Akizuki Museum Traveling Lecture

This lecture is held in fiscal year 2026 (Reiwa 8), marking the 150th anniversary milestone of the Akizuki Rebellion, one of the samurai rebellions that occurred in the early Meiji period. Featuring Mr. Takayoshi Sasaki, Director of the Asakura City Akizuki Museum, as the lecturer, the talk is titled 'Upheaval in the Akizuki Domain during the Bakumatsu and Restoration Period: Focusing on the Akizuki Rebellion.' It deeply explores the background leading to the uprising of the Akizuki Party at the time and the trends of the Akizuki Domain during the Bakumatsu and Meiji Restoration period based on remaining historical documents. It will be a valuable opportunity to explore how the Akizuki Domain acted during the turbulent era of the Meiji Restoration and its historical significance. The lecture will be held at multiple venues, and admission is free. Each venue has a capacity limit, but same-day participation is possible if seats are available.
