About this event
"Natsu Matsuri Asakura" is an event held in Asakura City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Originally scheduled for Saturday, September 5, it was postponed to Saturday, October 10 due to inclement weather. The venue is the Tanaka no Hama Multipurpose Square (right bank downstream of Chikugo River Asawa Ohashi Bridge), located about 3 minutes by car from the Asakura IC on the Oita Expressway. The event begins around 17:30, with fireworks scheduled to launch around 20:00. The rapid-fire sequence of 10 consecutive 1-shaku shells, the only one of its kind at fireworks displays in the city, is powerful and vividly colors the summer night sky. Food stalls, stage events, and a fun lottery drawing will also be held. Parking is available at the venue (500 yen per vehicle) and around the Asakura Branch Office of Asakura City Hall, among other locations, but parking inside the venue requires a fee.
