Japanese name:第23回しんとく新そば祭り
📅 Sun, Sep 27, 2026
About this event
Held every year on the last Sunday of September in Shintoku Town, Hokkaido, the 23rd Shintoku Shin-soba Festival is an irresistible event for buckwheat noodle lovers where they can taste the flavorful freshly harvested buckwheat (shin-soba) that is a specialty of Shintoku Town. At the venue, soba carefully made by local shops and volunteers will be served freshly harvested, freshly ground, freshly kneaded, and freshly boiled. In addition to soba, visitors can enjoy sweets like soba crepes and soft-serve ice cream, as well as sales of local products such as charcoal-grilled Shintoku local chicken and grilled log-cultivated shiitake mushrooms. The customary Wanko Soba Competition will also be held, featuring parent-child pair and adult pair categories. Temporary parking lots will be prepared around the venue, and shuttle buses are scheduled to operate.
