About this event
The annual "Lantern Festival" held at the Nishitomoeda Experiential Exchange Center "Yui Kirara." Bamboo lanterns made by Chusankan supporters and Nishitomoeda locals, paper lanterns made by Tomoeda Elementary School students, and decorative lanterns made by junior high school art clubs in Nakatsu City illuminate the venue with magical light. There are also plenty of stage events including kagura (sacred Shinto dance), Japanese taiko drumming, dance, and Chinese face-changing. In 2026, fireworks will be launched for the first time, featuring a finale where 1,000 fireworks light up the autumn night sky. At the concurrently held "Autumn Harvest Festival," producers directly sell local products such as freshly pounded mochi, newly harvested rice, and agricultural produce, and visitors can also savor local delicacies including newly harvested rice onigiri, sushi, wild boar hot pot, yakisoba, and yakitori.
