About this event
Kashima Hashigozake is held as an autumn pre-event for the "Sakagura Tourism" event held in spring. Multiple participating eateries within walking distance of central Kashima City will collaborate with different sake breweries. Participants visit various establishments carrying their original ochoko (sake cup) to taste a variety of sake and the restaurants' signature dishes that pair with them. You can also enjoy interacting with the sake breweries, such as listening to trivia and lore about Japanese sake from brewery workers at the shops. It operates on a ticket system, where you order the prepared sake and pay tickets depending on the type of drink. In addition to breweries in Kashima City, breweries from outside the city and guest breweries will also participate. This event aims not only to promote Sakagura Tourism, but also to attract customers to participating dining establishments, promote the area to local residents and visitors from outside Kashima, and revitalize the downtown commercial district.
