About this event
Held at the Nagasaki Science Museum, the "Moon Viewing Tea Ceremony and Moon Observation Gathering" is a seasonal special event where you can savor matcha green tea and Japanese sweets along with the Mid-Autumn harvest moon. At the Moon Viewing Tea Ceremony, you can enjoy tea prepared by an Omotesenke school instructor and savor matcha served with a traditional sweet for 300 yen per person. Capacity is limited to the first 200 people, and reception is open until 20:30, but it will end once the sweets run out. At the Moon Observation Gathering, held from 19:00 to 21:00 (reception until 20:30) at the 4F Starry Sky Plaza, you can observe the moon, planets, seasonal constellations, star clusters, and more. This gathering is free and requires no reservation, but will be cancelled in bad weather. The science museum's underground parking lot extends its operating hours until 21:00. In 2026, the Mid-Autumn harvest moon falls on Friday, September 25, and the full moon falls on Sunday, September 27.
