About this event

Affectionately known as 'Sea Fes', the Sasebo Seaside Festival is an event featuring citizen-participation programs. The first festival was held in 2005 (Heisei 17) as part of the 50th-anniversary commemorative project of Saikai National Park's designation, and has since been held every year with elaborate themes. Visitors can enjoy sports events, live stage performances, and more. The highlight of the event is the fireworks display held at the Sasebo City General Ground Athletic Stadium, which is surrounded by mountains. The sound of fireworks and music reverberates, allowing you to enjoy an immersive and powerful fireworks show. The wide fireworks spanning approximately 1 km along the banks of the Ainoura River can be viewed even more luxuriously from specially reserved paid viewing seats, offering an impressive, grand spectacle. In addition, an attraction titled 'Zombie Panic: Hands-on Panic Adventure' will be held, where participants aim to escape while solving riddles. This attraction operates on a timed-rotation basis with a limited number of participants.
