This is information on the Sasebo venue for the 71st Nagasaki Prefectural Art Exhibition (Kenten), the largest open-call exhibition in Nagasaki Prefecture. This exhibition invites submissions across seven categories: Japanese painting, Western painting, sculpture, craft, calligraphy, photography, and design. Its aim is to promote arts and culture by creating opportunities for prefectural residents to appreciate and participate in art, as well as fostering art activities. The Sasebo venue will be held at the Sasebo City Museum Shimase Art Center. Eligibility for entry is open to individuals born on or before April 1, 2011 (Heisei 23) who reside within the prefecture, whose guardians reside within the prefecture while the entrant attends a university outside the prefecture, or who commute to work or school within the prefecture. Submissions must be original and previously unreleased works. The entry fee is 5,000 yen for the general public and university students, and 2,000 yen for high school students. This exhibition is organized by Nagasaki Prefecture, the Nagasaki Prefectural Board of Education, the Nagasaki Art Association, and the Nagasaki Prefecture Cultural Organization Council.
