Held in Hirado City, Nagasaki Prefecture, "Shii Love Festa 2026" is a festival featuring a variety of events, including a mahi-mahi (shiira) cooking contest, a mahi-mahi fishing tournament, a fishing pond corner, a fish quiz and talk show, a nursery school dance show, a dance show by Studio Shine with Kei Kamogawa, a stage performance by the entertainment group VPRO Pirates, and a fish auction tournament. In the mahi-mahi cooking contest, dishes using mahi-mahi valued at 500 yen per serving will be entered, with a 100,000-yen prize awarded for the Grand Prix. The mahi-mahi fishing tournament runs from October 7 to October 19, featuring prizes such as the Kanayama Award (for the largest male) and the Toyohime Award (for the largest female). Participants also have a double-lottery opportunity to win luxurious prizes during the awards ceremony on November 1. The fishing pond corner can be enjoyed for 100 yen per try, complete with bait and a rental rod. At the children's fish quiz, kids can get fisherman trading cards and original button badges, while the talk show features fish insights from the Fisheries Agency and the Nagasaki Prefecture Fisheries Department. An opening dance performance by local preschool children, a collaborative dance show by a Hirado dance school and LDH-affiliated Kei Kamogawa, and a performance by the entertainment group VPRO Pirates will also be showcased. A fish auction tournament will also take place, where high-grade fish and various goods can be purchased at surprising prices, open to anyone. Applications for the cooking contest must be submitted by October 17, limited to the first 20 food stalls.
