Harvest Festival (Outo Rice Cultivation Experience)

This is a hands-on experience event where participants harvest Outo Rice using stone knives, which are stone tools from the Yayoi period. As the activity takes place in rice paddies, wearing clothes that can get dirty is recommended. This event is held annually at Harunotsuji Guidance, which practices the cultivation of ancient rice varieties and aigamo duck farming methods, and the harvested rice is served at the cafe inside the Guidance facility. It is a valuable opportunity to experience ancient rice farming in Iki, allowing participants to enjoy the joy of harvesting rice they grew with their own hands. Through the event, visitors can also connect with Iki's rich food culture and history.
