Completely Pesticide-Free! Mountain Play: Chestnut Picking Experience & Nagashi Somen

This is an experiential event where you can harvest chestnuts, the king of autumn flavors, at Hashinaga Farm surrounded by the rich nature of Toyocho, Yatsushiro City, Kumamoto Prefecture. These chestnuts are carefully cultivated 'completely pesticide-free', so everyone from small children to adults can enjoy them with peace of mind. Finding magnificent chestnuts hidden inside burs and skillfully opening the burs with your own hands to take them out will surely captivate adults and children alike. After the harvest, everyone can enjoy a lively, refreshing flowing somen (somen nagashi) experience, and yamame (mountain trout), a blessing from the river, grilled slowly over charcoal will be served. The fragrant salt-grilled yamame enjoyed in the great outdoors is exceptionally delicious. For lunch, the 'Toyo no Megumi Bento' (Bounty of Toyo Bento), carefully prepared using plenty of local seasonal ingredients, is provided, allowing you to savor the richness of Yatsushiro's terroir with every bite. The event will be cancelled in the event of rain, but it is a valuable opportunity to be among the first to feel the arrival of autumn.
