About this event
This special exhibition allows visitors to see fossils of various creatures that lived in ancient seas, including Mosasaurus, known as the king of the sea during the dinosaur era, as well as ichthyosaurs, plesiosaurs, and ammonites. Exhibits include Asia's only full-body skeleton of a mosasaurid, "Wakayama Soryu," and replicas of full-body skeletons such as Clidastes discovered in the United States, along with actual fossil skulls and restored models. Life-sized restored models of Platecarpus and a 1/5-scale restored model of Wakayama Soryu are also featured, allowing visitors to experience the ecosystem of primeval seas through powerful exhibits. During the exhibition period, museum-wide commentary sessions by curators and special exhibition guided tours will be held to provide deeper insight into the world of prehistoric creatures. Additionally, all visitors will receive a special Crayon Shin-chan card as a gift. This summer, take the whole family to Amakusa and take a peek into the world of the creatures that lived in ancient seas.
