About this event

A lecture related to the Amakusa Christian Museum special exhibition "Deciphering the 'Shimabara-Amakusa Rebellion' through Illustrated Maps" will be held. Welcoming Ms. Kazuko Koseki from the Cultural Heritage Division of the Minamishimabara City Board of Education as the lecturer, the talk titled "The Shimabara-Amakusa Rebellion Seen Through Illustrated Maps" will decipher the history of the rebellion through pictorial maps. The special exhibition displays battle scenes of the period, depictions of Shiro Amakusa and his father, and more from maps preserved on the Shimabara Peninsula and Amakusa Island. This lecture offers a prime opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the exhibition. Admission is free. On the same day, students from the Information Technology Course (CG Track) at Amakusa Technical High School, who designed the 60th-anniversary commemorative logo for the Amakusa Christian Museum, will also present an activity report.
