About this event
Set in "Amakusa," surrounded by beautiful seas and mountains, the 21st Amakusa Marathon will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2026. The event offers multiple categories: Half Marathon (21.0975 km), Half Marathon Team Competition, 5 km, and 3 km, allowing a wide range of participants to join. The half marathon is open to healthy individuals aged 15 and older (high school students and older) as of April 1, 2026. The half marathon team competition is formed with teams of 3 to 6 runners, competing for ranking based on the combined total time of the top 3 finishers from each team. The 5 km and 3 km events are open to elementary school students and older; elementary and junior high school students require parental consent. On the race day, Amashin Stadium serves as the hub for participant check-in, start, and finish. The half marathon time limit is 3 hours and 30 minutes, with the starting point closing at 9:05 and a checkpoint at the turnaround point closing at 10:50. The entry fee is 6,000 yen per person for the half marathon (including the team event), 3,000 yen for general/elementary/junior high/high school students (with participation prize) in the 5 km and 3 km events, and 1,000 yen for elementary/junior high/high school students (without participation prize). Sports injury insurance is included in all categories. Local specialties and service vouchers are planned as participation gifts. During the event period, gourmet events including the "Amakusa Japanese Spiny Lobster Festival" are also scheduled, allowing runners to enjoy not only running but also the unique cuisine of Amakusa. It is the perfect event to invite family, friends, and acquaintances to run, eat, and make lasting memories in autumn Amakusa.
