About this event
Kikuyo Town will hold the 'Human Rights Town Kikuyo Festa' and 'Yokatsure Festa' jointly. 'Human Rights Town Kikuyo Festa' aims to build a society that respects human rights, raising awareness through lectures, concerts, plays, and more. 'Yokatsure Festa' holds awareness events aiming to realize a 'gender-equal society' where men and women can demonstrate their individuality as equal partners. 'Yoka-tsure' means 'good relationship' or 'glad to be together' in Kumamoto dialect, expressing gratitude to event participants. In Part 1 of this festa, Kazuhide Tsujimoto will talk about human rights through the cultural heritage activities of Awa Deku Hakomawashi under the title 'Thinking About Human Rights Culture: The Puppeteer Who Brought Fortune'. In Part 2, Ikuyo Sasaki will give a lecture titled 'Countermeasures against the Lack of Gender Perspective in Evacuation Shelter Management: Past Disaster Responses', focusing on the importance of a gender-equality perspective in disaster responses. Admission is free, and anyone can participate.
